Common keeps his lyrical tiff at bay in the most recent round of subliminal shots against Drake. Common and V-103 held a private playback and Q&A session last night in Atlanta with radio personality Ryan Cameron at Vanquish lounge. As part of the evening’s revelry, Cameron held up cue cards with words he wanted Common–always the adept freestyler– to rap about over “The Light.” When a certain Canadian rapper’s name was called out, a very dapper Common playfully rapped, “You can ask why, people wanting me to keep dissing Canada Dry/I can’t do that,” a nod to his Drake name-calling on the “Stay Schemin (Remix)”

Kevin Kirkpatrick, a self-employed special effects makeup artist in Hollywood, has had a pretty good career. He’s done work for movies such as “Sucker Punch” and ” Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” And yet, this blog, and we’re willing to bet every other blog, has never mentioned him.

Today that changes. Because today we both just mentioning Kirkpatrick and getting on our hands and knees repeating “We’re not worthy.” And it’s all due to Beavis and Butt-Head. Late last night Kirkpatrick posted the photos above and below of two life-like B&B sculptures he did for the “Conjoined 2″ art show opening in L.A. this weekend.

Yesterday WHILE IN THE DENTIST CHAIR 50 live-tweeted a picture from his exam saying, “This is my dentist brian kantor every time I see him he tells me there something else wrong lol.” I totes feel your pain on this one, Fiddy. I’ve had like six root canals in the past five months, and I tank a bag of gummy bears every day only eat dark, leafy greens!

Lady Gaga tweeted about her Little Monsters. Kim Kardashian tweeted about Beyoncé’s baby-bump secret. Those Twitter updates and millions more made the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards the most tweeted-about awards show ever.

That awards-show record was just one that the VMAs shattered. Beyoncé set the record for the most mentions on Twitter per second with 8,868, helping make the show the most-watched broadcast in MTV history, pulling in 12.4 million viewers. Pre-show viewership also set a record, and MTV Digital saw its highest VMA day ever on Sunday with show content attracting 2 million unique visitors, an increase of 33 percent year over year.

The once-flamboyant Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash is now in debt. In July, The Detroit News reported that the music mogul and Jay-Z’s former business partner owes almost $3 million in back taxes, according to a tax lien filed June 30.

On Friday, Dash visited the “Sway in the Morning” radio show on Shade 45 and spoke to host and MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway about his recent troubles with the IRS. After being asked about owing “$2 million,” Dash quickly set the record straight: “I owe way more than $2 million in taxes. That must’ve just been the IRS,” Dash said, laughing, before admitting that he was in a bad space financially. “Nah, nah, I’m f—ed up.”
